Bob Schiffmann has been actively working in all areas of microwave heating including microwave ovens, foods, packaging and cookware, as well as industrial microwave processing since 1961.  An independent consultant since 1971 his work has been exclusively devoted to microwave heating for over 25 years.  He has served as an Expert Witness in 25 cases related to microwave heating: patent infringement; industrial fires; contract disputes; felony murder; product liability and personal injury for both plaintiffs and defendants.  He has also served as an Expert in two other cases: trademark and trade secret.  He has testified in depositions and trials, as well as a Daubert hearing and two arbitrations.  He lectures worldwide on microwaves and directs three international professional courses relating to microwave science and applications.  He has chaired over 20 international microwave conferences, publishes widely and holds 30 US patents. He is the President of the International Microwave Power Institute, a position he previously held from 1973 to 1982. In 2011 he became a Guest Professor of Kunming University of Science and Technology
