Practicing emergency medicine clinician with current EMT-P (paramedic) certification;  worked as paramedic and paramedic instructor for 12 years in busy 9-1-1 system; Co-authored three ECG texts and actively teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses along with EMS call review, telelmetry, and CME sessions to paramedics and EMT's.  Teaches paramedic courses. Worked with, taught, and supervised mid level providers (PAs and NPs). Have 14 years of ED leadership/ adminstrative responsibilities. Has 14 years of medical school faculty experience.

Worked with plaintiff and defense attorneys in civil, crimminal and adminstrative cases in the EMS and emergency medicine field.

Areas of interest: acute myocardial infarction (MI) and acute coronary syndromes, anaphylaxis, asthma, wound care, triage decisions, deaths in restraints/ custody, intoxication, resusciation, airway care including ventilation and endotracheal intubation and advanced airway management, prehospital care, emergency preparedness, emergency care of children, acute abdominal pain, asthma, and sexual assault.
