My engineering test pilot background, combined with experience in certification of helicopters for Transport Canada, plus experience teaching experimental flight testing and an ability to write clearly and concisely means that I have detailed background knowledge of how helicopters operate, and can explain this in simple terms. I have been able to determine the cause of several helicopter accidents where the cause eluded the official accident investigators.

I have specialist knowledge about digital fuel controls on helicopter engines, and a good background in avionic systems. Human factors aspects of accidents and incidents are carefully explored.

I am a regular contributor to Vertical magazine, and a regular lecturer at Heli-Expo as well as other specialist helicopter events. I was responsible for certifying a low-cost simulator for helicopter IFR training in Europe.
